How To Clean The VIVOHOME Toaster Oven

A toaster oven is an amazing little appliance that can help you make a lot of delicious food. As compact and convenient as it is, a toaster oven can be used in multiple ways. You can make some toast, do some baking, roast food, and you can even reheat last night’s leftovers with a toaster oven.

Maybe you are using the toaster oven every day, but do you still remember when was the last time you clean your toaster oven? Using a toaster that has some food buildup may not affect your use for a while, still, regular maintenance and cleaning are indeed necessary. It is not only a matter of cleaning but safety. The grease buildup and food splatters in the toaster oven could ignite at high temperatures, which can be dangerous.

In fact, cleaning a toaster oven is quite easy and does not take much time at all. So let’s see how to get this job done step by step.

Step 1 Unplug your toaster oven

For safety reasons, you need to unplug your toaster oven first and make sure it is cool. And remove all the movable parts such as trays and racks. You can place the toaster oven unit in a place that is convenient for cleaning, for example, place it near the sink or garbage can.

Step 2 Soak the tray and racks

Fill your sink with water and dish soap and place the toaster oven tray, racks, and any other removable parts in the soapy water. It is recommended to soak these parts for a period of time before you start cleaning them. And during that time, you can work on cleaning the toaster oven.

Step 3 Remove crumbs and residue

Use a dry cloth or sponge to wipe any crumbs or residues out of your toaster oven. You can use a small cleaning brush to clean the crumbs that are stuck in corners or seams. Also, gently tapping the sides of the unit will help to dislodge the crumbs and small bits, too.

Step 4 Clean the interior of the toaster oven

In this step, you can create your cleaning solution by mixing 1/2 cup warm water, 1/2 cup vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of dish soap together. Choose something to wipe with, it could be a cloth, a kitchen towel, a sponge, or a rag, then dampen it with the solution. Now you need to wipe the interior of the toaster oven, paying special attention to grease and dirt. If your unit has heating elements, be careful and try not to get them wet. If you get them wet accidentally, you can wipe the liquid with a dry cloth or rag.

Step 5 Clean the exterior and the glass door

You can soak a sponge with a mixture of lukewarm water and dish soap, then wring it out until it becomes relatively dry. Then carefully wipe the exterior of your toaster oven with it. As for the glass door, you can also make a homemade solution by combining one part vinegar, two parts water, and a tablespoon of lemon juice, and then wipe the glass door with the cleaning solution. Tip: Using coffee filters helps to make your glass door streak-free shine.

Step 6 Clean the tray and racks and place them back

After soaking in the soapy water for a while, the stains on these elements have become easier to remove. All you need to do now is to rinse your rag and gently wipe away all the residue left on the elements. After they are completely dry, you can place them back into your toaster oven.

Step 7 Plug the toaster oven

Now that your toaster oven has been deeply cleaned, check if it is thoroughly dry, then connect it to the power source and you are ready to go.
